This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of Sonafone ("Service"), operated by Cosmo Suite LLC ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). This AUP is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service.
By using Sonafone, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.
General Principles
Sonafone provides a cloud-based VoIP calling platform designed for legitimate personal and business communication. You agree to use the Service in a manner that is:
- Legal: Compliant with all applicable laws and regulations
- Respectful: Not harmful, threatening, or abusive to others
- Honest: Not deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading
- Responsible: Mindful of the rights and safety of others
Prohibited Activities
Illegal Activities
You may NOT use Sonafone for any activity that is illegal under federal, state, or local law, including but not limited to:
- Fraud, identity theft, or financial crimes
- Drug trafficking or other criminal enterprises
- Money laundering or terrorist financing
- Child exploitation or trafficking
- Stalking, harassment, or threats of violence
- Violations of export control or sanctions laws
Emergency Services Abuse
Sonafone does NOT support 911 or emergency service calls.
You may NOT:
- Attempt to place calls to emergency services (911, 112, 999, etc.)
- Use the Service in situations requiring emergency response
- Misrepresent Sonafone as a service capable of emergency calling

Harassment and Abuse
You may NOT use Sonafone to:
- Make threatening, abusive, or harassing calls
- Engage in stalking or repeated unwanted contact
- Intimidate, bully, or defame others
- Distribute hate speech or discriminatory content
- Make obscene, lewd, or offensive calls
Spam and Unwanted Communications
You may NOT use Sonafone for:
- Unsolicited telemarketing or robocalls
- Spam calls or mass automated dialing
- Calls to numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry (without exemption)
- Calls without proper consent under the TCPA
- Any form of call bombing or number flooding

Caller ID Violations
You may NOT:
- Spoof caller ID to defraud, cause harm, or wrongfully obtain anything of value
- Display misleading or false caller ID information
- Use another person's phone number without authorization
- Manipulate caller ID for illegal purposes
- Violate the Truth in Caller ID Act or state caller ID laws
Legitimate Caller ID Use
The following are generally permitted:
- Displaying a verified business number you own
- Using purchased virtual numbers
- Blocking caller ID (where legally permitted)
- Medical or domestic violence contexts where anonymity protects safety
Fraudulent Activities
You may NOT use Sonafone for:
- Phishing, vishing, or social engineering attacks
- Impersonating government officials, law enforcement, or businesses
- Advance fee fraud or lottery scams
- Tech support scams or IRS/tax scams
- Romance scams or investment fraud
- Any scheme to deceive others for financial gain
Network Abuse
You may NOT:
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits or billing
- Share accounts or resell Service without authorization
- Use the Service to conduct denial-of-service attacks
- Interfere with network operations or other users
- Exploit vulnerabilities in the Service
- Engage in traffic pumping or toll fraud
- Generate artificial or excessive call volume
Recording Violations
If using call recording features, you may NOT:
- Record calls without proper consent where required by law
- Distribute recordings without authorization
- Use recordings for illegal purposes
- Record calls for blackmail or extortion

Usage Guidelines
Fair Use
Sonafone is designed for reasonable personal and business use. We reserve the right to impose limits on:
- Call duration and frequency
- Number of simultaneous calls
- Account creation and trial usage
- Virtual number acquisitions
Account Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- All activity occurring under your account
- Maintaining secure login credentials
- Reporting unauthorized access immediately
- Ensuring authorized users comply with this AUP
Business Use
If using Sonafone for business purposes, you must:
- Comply with all applicable business telecommunications regulations
- Obtain necessary consent for marketing calls
- Maintain proper do-not-call procedures
- Identify your business when required by law
Trial Abuse Prevention
Our free trial is intended for legitimate evaluation of the Service. You may NOT:
- Create multiple accounts to obtain additional trial minutes
- Use device fingerprint spoofing to circumvent trial limits
- Share trial access with others
- Use automated methods to abuse the trial system
Trial abuse will result in permanent blocking and may be reported to fraud prevention services.
Reporting Violations
If you believe someone is violating this AUP, please report it to:

- Subject: "AUP Violation Report"
Include as much detail as possible:
- Date and time of incident
- Phone numbers involved
- Description of the violation
- Any supporting evidence
We investigate all reports and take appropriate action.
Enforcement
Investigation
We may investigate potential violations by:
- Reviewing call records and metadata
- Analyzing usage patterns
- Responding to third-party complaints
- Cooperating with law enforcement
Consequences
Violations of this AUP may result in:

We reserve the right to:
- Suspend or terminate accounts without prior notice for serious violations
- Forfeit prepaid balances used in violation of this AUP
- Report illegal activity to appropriate authorities
- Pursue civil remedies for damages caused
Appeals
If your account is suspended or terminated, you may appeal by contacting support@sonafone.com within 30 days. Include:
- Your account information
- Explanation of the circumstances
- Any relevant evidence
Appeals are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and our decision is final.
Third-Party Requirements
As a Twilio-powered service, your use of Sonafone is also subject to Twilio's Acceptable Use Policy. Key Twilio AUP requirements include:
- No illegal, fraudulent, or deceptive communications
- No interference with Twilio's network or services
- No use for emergency services (911)
- Compliance with all applicable telecommunications laws
Violation of Twilio's AUP may result in immediate termination of your Sonafone service.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on the Service. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
