Managing Contacts

Your contacts list makes it easy to call frequently used numbers without having to remember or type them each time. This guide covers everything you need to know about managing your contacts.

Accessing Your Contacts

You can access your contacts in several ways:

  1. Click Contacts in the sidebar navigation
  2. Use the View Contacts quick action on the dashboard
  3. Click the contacts icon in the mobile bottom navigation

Adding a New Contact

Manual Entry

  1. Go to the Contacts page
  2. Click the Add Contact button (usually a "+" icon)
  3. Fill in the contact information:
    • Name: Contact's full name
    • Phone Number: Include country code (e.g., +1 555 123 4567)
    • Email: Optional email address
    • Notes: Any additional information
  4. Click Save to add the contact

Always include the country code when adding phone numbers. This ensures calls connect correctly.

From Call History

You can quickly add a contact from your call history:

  1. Go to Call History
  2. Find the call you want to add as a contact
  3. Click the contact icon or "Add to Contacts" option
  4. Fill in the name and any additional details
  5. Save the contact

Editing a Contact

To update contact information:

  1. Go to your Contacts page
  2. Find the contact you want to edit
  3. Click the Edit button (usually a pencil icon)
  4. Update any fields you want to change
  5. Click Save to apply changes

You can edit any contact information at any time, including phone numbers and names.

Deleting a Contact

To remove a contact:

  1. Go to your Contacts page
  2. Find the contact you want to delete
  3. Click the Delete button (usually a trash icon)
  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted

Deleting a contact is permanent and cannot be undone. The contact's call history will remain, but you'll need to re-add them to call again easily.

Calling from Contacts

The easiest way to call a contact:

  1. Go to your Contacts page
  2. Find the contact you want to call
  3. Click the Call button next to their name
  4. The dialer will open with their number pre-filled
  5. Select your caller ID and click Call

Calling from contacts saves time and reduces errors from manual number entry.

Searching Contacts

To find a contact quickly:

  1. Use the Search bar at the top of the contacts page
  2. Type any part of the contact's name or number
  3. Results will filter as you type
  4. Click on the contact to view details or call

Organizing Contacts

Best Practices

  • Use full names: Makes searching easier
  • Include country codes: Ensures calls connect correctly
  • Add notes: Include context like "Work" or "Client"
  • Regular cleanup: Remove outdated or unused contacts
  • Consistent formatting: Use the same format for all numbers

Contact Groups (Future Feature)

While contact groups aren't available yet, you can organize contacts by:

  • Naming conventions: Use prefixes like "Work -" or "Client -"
  • Notes field: Add tags or categories in the notes
  • Regular review: Periodically review and organize your list

Importing Contacts

Currently, contacts must be added manually. Future features may include:

  • CSV import
  • Integration with other contact systems
  • Bulk contact management

Contact Information

Each contact can include:

  • Name: Required - Contact's full name
  • Phone Number: Required - Must include country code
  • Email: Optional - For reference only
  • Notes: Optional - Any additional information

Mobile View

On mobile devices, the contacts interface is optimized for touch:

  • Larger touch targets: Easy to tap contacts and buttons
  • Swipe actions: Swipe to call or edit (where available)
  • Simplified layout: Focused on essential information
  • Quick call: Tap to call directly

Troubleshooting

Contact not saving?

  • Verify all required fields are filled
  • Check phone number format (include country code)
  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection
  • Try refreshing the page

Can't find a contact?

  • Use the search function
  • Check spelling of the name
  • Verify the contact wasn't deleted
  • Try searching by phone number

Call from contact fails?

  • Verify the phone number is correct
  • Check that the number includes country code
  • Ensure you have sufficient account balance
  • Try calling the number manually to verify it works

Duplicate contacts?

  • Search for the contact before adding
  • Review your contacts list regularly
  • Delete duplicates manually
  • Use consistent naming to avoid duplicates

Tips for Effective Contact Management

  1. Regular updates: Keep contact information current
  2. Consistent formatting: Use the same phone number format
  3. Use notes: Add context that helps you remember the contact
  4. Clean up regularly: Remove contacts you no longer need
  5. Backup important contacts: Keep a separate record of critical contacts
