Adding credits (also called "topping up") is how you fund your Sonafone account. This guide walks you through the process of adding credits to your account.

Accessing the Top-Up Page

You can add credits in several ways:

  1. Billing page: Click Add Credits button on the Billing page
  2. Dashboard: Use the Add Credits quick action
  3. Low balance alert: Click the alert when balance is low
  4. Mobile: Tap the Add Credits button in the mobile billing view

Top-Up Process

Step 1: Select Amount

Choose how much you want to add:

  • Preset amounts: Quick-select buttons (e.g., $10, $25, $50, $100)
  • Custom amount: Enter any amount manually
  • Minimum: Typically $5 minimum
  • Maximum: Check current limits (if any)

You can add any amount above the minimum. Larger amounts may be more convenient if you call frequently.

Step 2: Choose Payment Method

Select how you want to pay:

  • Saved payment method: Use a previously saved card
  • New payment method: Add a credit or debit card
  • Other methods: Additional payment options may be available

Step 3: Review and Confirm

Before completing:

  • Review amount: Confirm the credit amount
  • Check payment method: Verify payment details
  • Review total: See the total charge (including any fees)
  • Confirm: Complete the transaction

Step 4: Confirmation

After payment:

  • Immediate credit: Balance updates right away
  • Confirmation message: Success notification
  • Transaction record: Added to your billing history
  • Ready to use: Credits available immediately

Credits are added to your account immediately after payment confirmation. No waiting period required.

Transaction Confirmation

After adding credits:

Immediate Updates

  • Balance updated: New balance shown immediately
  • Transaction recorded: Appears in billing history
  • Email receipt: Confirmation email sent (if configured)
  • Ready to use: Credits available for calls right away

Receipt Information

Your transaction receipt includes:

  • Amount added: Credit amount
  • Payment method: How you paid
  • Transaction ID: Reference number
  • Date and time: When the transaction occurred
  • New balance: Your updated account balance

Troubleshooting

Payment failed?

  • Check card details: Verify card number, expiry, CVV
  • Sufficient funds: Ensure card has available balance
